Scouring our online news sources, PSPStockOnline.com have learnt that Sony have signed a deal with Technologies Group Plc. This company is the licensor of graphic processor units (GPU’s), and their latest technology is the PowerVR SGX.

What this means is that when Sony have an upgrade, this company will be providing the GPU. You might not have heard of the company, but if you use an Apple iPhone another of their GPU’s – the PowerVR MBX – is used in that.

Interesting eh?

But let’s not digress… another PSP? We’ll keep you posted.

Yes try to hold back the tears as you discover that due to the ’significant interest’ in the Ratchet & Clank : Size Matters PSP Entertainment Pack, Sony will be ’streamlining’ their PSP hardware line up and that means adios to the 4GB Memory Pack.

Oh Well : you can always grab a 4GB memory stick here if you want one.. Life goes on.

The new console has also produced an interesting knock on effect, with combined sales of both the PSP 1000 and PSP 2000 increasing from the usual 20,000 per week to a pretty impressive 155,720 last week according to Famitsu figures. Will a similar scenario happen over here?

Study it closely and see if you can spot two interesting details…

OK it’s only really one detail but there are two things to look for.

Firstly – The PSN logo is clearly visible. (The first time that the PlayStation Portable has  been associated with this logo).

Secondly – The PSP screen is displaying the PSN store.

Both are clear indicators that the long awaited PSP direct Wi-Fi store should be here in the (very) near future – certainly before the launch of this particular bundle on November 30th.

As things stand according to Enterbrain, the PSP has sold 1,583,731 units for the first half of the year in Japan, whilst it’s arch rival the Nintendo DS has shifted 1,314,919 units over the same period.

So that’s the first round to to the PSP but are you ready for the next phase of the battle when the DSi and the PSP 3000 get ready to do battle?

Seconds out…. Round Two!

Media Molecule founder Mark Healy suggested that a PSP version of LittleBigPlanet was not out of the question when he told EurogamerTV that “It’d be great to make, for the people who are really into the Create side, some kind of companion products that allow you to create things while you’re on the train.”

He went on to add ”One thing that I’d love to add is the ability to create your own music, for example, that you can import into the game. That seems like an obvious one to do and it’d be quite easy really.”

So what do you think – LBP on PSP?

Sounds like a case of a Littler LittleBigPlanet.

However he proposed that integrating existing online games with the console is the immediate priority explaining how ‘ In Free Realms you could have a pet training system that literally connects to our online gaming where you can mess around with your pet.’

Alternatively mini-games could be an avenue they may develop ‘Another way to do it might be to give them mini-games that they can do when sitting at a bus stop, “You’re sitting there leveling up your character, you log in at home when you’re on Wi Fi, and all of sudden your character has leveled up. We think those kinds of experiences are very possible.”

So MMOs on the PSP – any titles you’d like to see?

What makes this news as crisp as freshly driven snow is that the title will be designed especially for the console and won’t be ported in ‘willy nilly’.

The PSP version will provide the option of hurling yourself down 5 different snow covered mountains (I believe they are called ‘runs’ but don’t quote me on that) and  look out for various multi-player features and solo action which will allow you to gain experience and additional attributes.

It’s looking pretty good to me and it’s released on November 16th.

Manchester United and arch rivals Liverpool have already been announced and you can now add FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, FC Porto, Brondy IF and UEFA cup winners Zenit. St Petersburg to the list.

A selection of national sides have also been included with teams such as Italy, Holland and Northern Ireland making an apperance, throw in a quick four year licensing agreement with UEFA allowing a European Champions League and you’ve finally got a game which may rival my Uncle’s epic Subbuteo tournaments back in the day.

The Force Unleashed has raced to the top of the charts regardless of platform and provides us all with an opportunity to play the part of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice.

So now the dust has settled what do you think of the game?

Suprisingly the critics didn’t seem to be blown away (at least not unanimously) and with the PSP providing a different gaming experience from it’s PS3 counterpart it would be interesting to know how you feel this version of the game stands up.

Does the game deliver everything you expected or is it’s rightful home on a bigger console?
